Some Of My Glass (Plexiglas) Paintings..
Thought of sharing some of my glass(plexiglas) paintings with you. These are not perfect; you will notice paint smudges and paint brush marks here and there but still they are dear to me :)

Hi Mishmash,
ReplyDeleteLiked your paintings.Plexiglas is a special kind of glass ? I liked those jars you painted. Those are looking nice:)
Dear please teach us also to do glass painting through ur blog.I liked all ur paintings. Can anybody do this?Or need artistic talent?!
ReplyDeleteHey Shn, I'd read your love for glass painting on your profile. This was beautiful!!:) Esp the last one, I totally loved it! I perfectly understand how dear your paintings are to you. When I do a bit of crochet, I feel the same, even if the finishing just isn't there or the design is too simple :) I am planning to paint some glass bottles in which I grow a few creepers...now I'm inspired!!:)
ReplyDeleteHi Mishmash, thanks for visiting my blog! Wow, such talent, a great cook and a painter! I'm so envious! :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful piece of art shn. i have got one glass painting of my own. i have painted ganesha. i usally draw the pic i want coz i haven't got any trace pics. its been almost ayear since i touched my painting brushes. thanks for reminding me sweetie:)
ReplyDeleteExcellent art work shn!! I used to do glass paintings too when I was in India. After the marriage, everything went out of the window!;D
ReplyDeleteI love the Jars hanging by the window.

Hi Shn,
ReplyDeleteExcellent , marvellous job by you.I use to do spray, glass, fabric, nib painting when i was in India, now its been long time.
Wow! They look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI buy stained glass craft kits for my daughter and she loves doing it. She makes it like sun catchers and hangs it all over her window.
I know, the real thing needs a lot of talent. You did a wonderful job, mishmash! I wish I had the talent and patience to do that.
loved your paintings. You are such an artist! No wonder your first attempt at dressing up strawberries was so good! and what smudge? i dont see any. All look perfect...esp the two jars hanging on the rod.
ReplyDeletehey nice paintings..somehow i like the third one the most..how long does it take to finish a painting like that??
ReplyDeleteNice to see someone indulging in creative passions in this busy world of ours!!
those are terrific! i love the first one...i too, did not notice any smudges!
ReplyDeleteHey Shn,
ReplyDeleteI loved your paintings! You're quite an artist there! Especially love the two glass lampshades strung an dhanging form the corner of the curtain rod!
One more thing.. everytime I see your name 'Shn' I just read it as Shiny! Dont know why, it just feels like your name is 'shiny' ..weird! :-) Just thought i'll share this and make u smile!
Cheers
Latha
Nice art work. The first one reminds me of the oil painting i did of two indian villages belles. The artist in you is seen even in the food presentation you do.
ReplyDeleteShn, they are gorgeous!!! I love those little jars hanging by the draps!
ReplyDeleteMany houses like to put up one or two painting glass by their windows, I can't help and just stop and keep admiring :D
So so beautiful Shn. The hanging jars are so pretty. You are real talented !!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting shn...loved all of them...but loved the one hanging on curtain rails...
ReplyDeleteShn, I don't see any smudges. I see lovely, vividly colored pieces of art. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi All,
ReplyDeleteI had my share of doubts before making this post as I was not sure whether it was a good idea to display my crafts on a food blog! But now I am so glad that I did it . It's great to know that many of you indulge in such arts and crafts and share the same interests and appreciate art other than our love for food. Many of you showed your appreciation for those glass bowls hanging by the window drapes and its CJJ's favourite too :)
Accidental Diva, Looks like you are new to my blog. A warm welcome :) Its really nice to meet people who share the same interests. The last one u were referring to , I painted those bowls from inside and stuck flower stickers on the outside surface. I used some traces from net and some from books. Thanks for visiting my page :)
Archana,Thank youuu :) Plexiglas is a type of transparent thermo-plastic sheets; Infact using Plexiglas was not my choice, i generally use stained glass but during my initial days in US I wasn't sure where I can find stained glasses; So i had to resort to Plexiglas.Hey, I am not able to go to your page. Are you a blogger?
Kitchenfairy, hahahha… dear,I wish I could but that would be like learning swimming or driving through an online course :))Anyone with a steady hand and patience can do these paintings, no need for any artistic talents as such. Check out in your local craft stores where you may find glass painting craft kits which has a design frame and paints and brush. Its an ideal craft for kids, If you re very new to this, try with that one, u will get a feel of using paints and then you can start with bigger designs on glass. If you need more info, pls mail me at shncjj@gmail.com
Jyothsna, inspired ?? oh..myyy..I'm flattered :)) Why dont you post ur crochet works? I would love to have a look at those. I was never good with needle and threads, basically dont have that much patience ;) Thanks for all those nice comments :)
Shilpa, Welcome to Mishmash! envious of me ? kidding rt ?:) Thank You so much for visiting my page.
Sia, I havent touched my paint brushes for last 2 yrs!!! these are all from the first year of my US life. hey , you should be very good at free hand drawing rt, I am not :) Pls do post ur ganesha, would love to see that.
Asha,Thank YOUUU :) Its soo great to know that we have one more thing in common, other than love for food :) Whatever I did before marriage is now in India, these are some pieces I tried after coming to US :)
Bee, so you dont have to be jealous of me ;)
Sharmi, Welcome to Mishmash! and thanks for all those nice words. I did enjoy ur blog :)
Usha, I have never tried spray and fabric painting...I enjoy nib painting too :) May be you can think of trying out all of them again. Thanks a lot!
RP, hey, how old is your daughter ? yes kids enjoy such crafty works and those sun catchers are so cute rt :) If you have the patience you can also do it . Thank you so much !
Hema,oh...blush..blush ;) I cant take so much of appreciation :)
Mathew,oh i like the third one too.. I like that baby cloud talking to moon face :) That one took only 2-3 days..mainly depends on the size...once the outlines dry up, you can start the painting part..but framing can be done only when it is fully dry.
Cinderelly, the first one is that of an Indian princess dreaming of her prince. If you liked that one, then am sure, you will fall in love with India, Its worth taking a trip to India, trust me :) I know you are a talented artist :)
Latha,hahahahhahahaaaaaaa...that was a very good try, but sorry, wrong answer :) you did make me and CJJ laugh a lot. Thanks :) My name starts with S but not Shiny;) Shn is my first corporate mail id that was allotted to me during my project and its special to me due to some other reasons too ;)
Pravs,Aww..I feel so great to read all that :) You are a great artist girl. Iam not good at free hand painting. I really want to see your oil painting, pls do post it. I know how difficult it is to paint a human face. Hope you do more of them.
Gattina,Thanks dear :) I usually frame them and use 'em for wall decor.
Sandeepa,Thanks so much dear. Those bowls are quite easy ones. Wanna give a try?
Sri,Thanks Youuu :) hmm...many liked those glass bowls.
Susan, good for meeee :)So happy that you liked 'em.
Once again, THANK YOU all for dropping by and commenting on my paintings. Though its been 2 years since I touched the paint brush, your appreciation and comments are motivating me to do more :)
Take care
Shn
